Homeless Man Pleads Guilty in the Murder of Tracey Guthrie

In a high profile case in Vancouver, Canada, Steve Vezina has pleaded guilty in the death of Tracey Guthrie. Vezina is a homeless man charged with the first degree murder of Tracey Guthrie. For his crime Vezina was sentenced to life in prison without any chance of parole for 25 years.

Tracey Guthrie had wandered outside of Vancouver General Hospital in Janury of 2006 where she was being treated for tuberculosis. She was killed and her body left near City Hall. At the time of the crime Vezina was questioned and released by the Vancouver Police. A month later he was arrested in Calgary.

Guthrie leaves behind her two teenage children. A trust fund has been setup for her family.
